Abstract

Sektor osiguranja jedan je od najbrže rastućih segmenata na svjetskom financijskom tržištu. Sve brža integracija interneta, telekomunikacijskih i informacijskih tehnologija omogućila je razvoj novih usluga te promjenu načina poslovanja zbog čega su poslovni subjekti danas izloženi novim rizicima. Najveća prijetnja globalnim poduzećima i organizacijama danas su cyber rizici, a sve veći broj slučajeva krađa podataka i sigurnosnih incidenata posljedično povećava i potražnju za cyber osiguranjem. Rastuća potreba za tim osigurateljnim pokrićem, uz dovoljnu osviještenost potrošača omogućava osiguravajućim društvima priliku za još veći rast i osvajanje tržišnog udjela. Proizvodi cyber osiguranja već su godinama prisutni na razvijenim tržištima osiguranja, a postaju sve traženiji i na hrvatskom tržištu. Istraživanje provedeno anketiranjem osiguravajućih društava pokazalo je da unatoč još uvijek maloj potražnji na hrvatskom tržištu, osiguravajuća društva nastoje biti u toku s globalnim trendovima i razvijaju cyber proizvode. Postoji potencijal za veći razvoj tržišta pri čemu veliku ulogu ima osvještavanje i informiranje potrošača o izloženostima raznim oblicima cyber kriminala te mogućim gubicima kojima ih izlažu potencijalni cyber napadi. Upravljanje poslovnim rizicima je bitan element korporativnog upravljanja, a cyber osiguranje nedvojbeno bi trebalo postati dio poslovne strategije svakog većeg poslovnog subjekta.

Abstract (english)

The insurance sector is one of the fastest growing segments on the global financial market. Ever faster integration of Internet, telecommunications and information technologies has enabled the development of new services and a change in the businesses manners and exposed business entities to new types of risks. Cyber risks are today the biggest threat to global businesses and organizations and the increasing number of data breach and security incidents is increasing the demand for cyber insurance. The growing need for this type of coverage, with sufficient consumer awareness, gives insurance companies the opportunity to grow even more and to gain market share. Cyber insurance products have been present on developed insurance markets for years, and are becoming more and more requested on the Croatian market. Performed study of insurance companies has showed that despite still low demand on the Croatian market, insurance companies are tending to be in line with global trends and are developing cyber insurance products. There is a potential for greater market development, but it is important to raise awareness and inform consumers about their exposure to various forms of cyber criminal and the potential losses from cyber attacks. Business risk management is an essential element of corporate governance today and cyber insurance should become part of the business strategy of every major company.
