Abstract

Based on the presented primary facts and examples, it can be concluded that
regardless of the barriers and complexity, EBP is an invaluable tool and can help
users make more efficient and effective decisions. There needs to be a strong
emphasis towards understanding what EBP is fundamentally before initiating and
implementing it into practice due to its complex nature. Neglecting the foundations
of internal characteristics and external context can result in misused EBP application,
which may end in an unintended or unwanted outcome.
Using EBP makes choices much more credible and results are far more likely to be
successful. It is critical that all stages of EBP should be extensively monitored,
including the preliminary stages of acquiring substantiated evidence that would be
used.
Implementing EBP sounds far easier in theory than it is in practice. For this reason
extra attention must be paid at each stage of the process. Additionally, there must
be a substantial amount of research evidence available from reliable sources. Before
making arrangements of using EBP, there should be established institutions or
groups who professionally collect, analyze and translate proper contextual facts that
can be easily accessed and used by decision-makers. With the aid of the Pew-
MacArthur Results First Initiative project framework and utilizing organized and
unbiased data, produced by projects like SHARE, allows using EBP to be much easier
for countries such as Croatia who currently neglect the importance of evidence.
More specifically for Croatia, there is a strong need for them to implement a new
EBP model to help face and eliminated their many social and economic challenges.
