Abstract

Neobnovljivi izvori energije, nafta i plin, danas prevladavaju u potrošnji energije u svijetu. Njihove zalihe su u ograničenim količinama, sve su skuplji i sve više dolazi do izražaja njihov štetan utjecaj na okoliš. Obnovljivi izvori energije trebaju sve većim udjelom zamijeniti energiju iz fosilnih goriva i postati „most” do korištenja nekog drugog goriva budućnosti. Poljoprivredni ostaci i ostaci iz prerađivačke industrije imaju velik potencijal u proizvodnji energije i proizvoda dodane vrijednosti. Pod tom klasifikacijom spadaju i ostaci rezidbe hortikulturnih vrsta, u ovom slučaju ljuske važnijih orašastih plodova (lješnjak, badem, orah). Zahvaljujući novim tehnologijama, ostaci se mogu koristiti na mnogo različitih načina za dobivanje toplinske i električne energije, ali i za tekuća ili plinovita goriva. Piroliza je jedan od načina pretvorbe ovakvih ostataka u energiju. Piroliza je termokemijski postupak koji se izvodi bez prisustva kisika na temelju kojega se mogu dobiti tri različita konačna produkta – bioulje, biougljen i sintetski plin.
Cilj rada je bio utvrditi potencijal pirolize lignocelulozne biomase, odnosno ljuski orašastih plodova (lješnjaka, badema i oraha), odrediti lignocelulozni sastav odnosno usporediti goriva svojstva ukoliko se sirovina koristi za proces neposrednog izgaranja. Dobiveni rezultati ukazuju na kvalitetu i visok energetski potencijal istraživane biomase.

Abstract (english)

Today, nonrenewable energy sources like oil and gas prevail in the world energy consumption. Their stock is in limited quantities, they are getting more and more expensive and have damaging effect on the environment. Renewable energy sources should increasingly replace energy from fossil fuels and become a "bridge" for using another fuel in the future. Agricultural residues and residues from the processing industry have great potential in energy production. Under this clasification are also residues from horticultural species, in this case shells of the most importnant nuts. Thanks to new technologies, residues can be used in many various ways for obtaining heat and electrical energy, as well as for liquid and gaseous fuels. Pyrolysis is one of the methods of converting that kind of residues into energy. Pyrolysis is a thermochemical process carried out in the absence of oxygen that yields with three different end-products - bio-oil, biochar and syngas. The main objective of the present study is to determine pyrolysis potential of lignocellulosic biomass, ie. shells of nuts (hazelnut, almond and walnut), lignocellulosic composition and to compare fuel properties in case the raw material is used for the process of direct combustion. The obtained results indicate high quality of the investigated biomass.
