Abstract

Este trabalho centra-se na tradução de duas brochuras turísticas portuguesas, "Sentir Portugal" e "Região de Lisboa" (as duas disponíveis em linha), e na análise da tradução dos elementos culturais que se encontram nestas brochuras. Antes de apresentar a nossa tradução das brochuras e de classificar os elementos culturais segundo os procedimentos tradutórios de Veselica Majhut, explica-se brevemente conceitos como turismo, brochura turística, elementos culturais e procedimentos de tradução. Além disso, ressalta-se a importância da tradução em turismo e da tradução dos elementos culturais nesse âmbito. Igualmente, ressaltam-se algumas das estratégias frequentemente usadas na sua tradução, a comunicação intercultural e a fotografia, ou seja, a parte visual das brochuras. Serão também expostos os procedimentos tradutórios de Veselica Majhut, cuja tipologia serviu como base para a nossa análise e classificação. Para finalizar a nossa análise, exemplifica-se os procedimentos tradutórios mais usados, com alguns exemplos da tradução de elementos culturais. Em síntese, conclui-se que o procedimento mais utilizado na nossa tradução é a combinação da retenção com a tradução direta. Utilizam-se também outras combinações de procedimentos, não listadas na classificação de Veselica Majhut, e, finalmente, constataremos que procedimentos tais como as combinações com notas de rodapé não são usadas.

Abstract (croatian)

Ovaj se rad fokusira na prijevod dvije turističke brošure, "Sentir Portugal" (Osjetite Portugal) e "Região de Lisboa" (Lisabon) (obje dostupne na internetu) te na analizu prijevoda elemenata kulture koji se nalaze u ovim brošurama. Prije negoli izložimo naš prijevod brošura i klasificiramo elemente kulture prema prijevodnim postupcima Veselice Majhut, ukratko se objašnjavaju koncepti poput turizma, turističke brošure, elemenata kulture i postupaka prevođenja. Osim toga, ističemo važnost prijevoda u turizmu i prijevoda elemenata kulture u turističkoj sferi. Ističu se također neke od češće korištenih strategija pri prevođenju istih, interkulturalna komunikacija i važnost fotografije, odnosno, vizualnog dijela brošura. Također, predstavljaju se prijevodni postupci Veselice Majhut čija nam je klasifikacija poslužila kao baza za našu analizu i klasifikaciju. Pri završetku naše analize, ističemo neke primjere najčešće korištenih prijevodnih postupaka elemenata kulture i njihova prijevoda. Naposljetku zaključujemo da je najkorišteniji postupak u našem prijevodu kombinacija prenošenja s izravnim prijevodom. Također su korištene druge kombinacije postupaka koje nisu na popisu Veselice Majhut i za kraj zaključujemo kako neki postupci, poput kombinacija s fusnotama, nisu uopće korišteni.

Abstract (english)

This work focuses on the translation of two Portuguese tourist brochures, "Sentir Portugal" (Feeling Portugal) and "Região de Lisboa" (Lisbon) (both available online) and on the analysis of translation of culture-bound elements that can be found in these brochures. Before we display our translation of brochures and classify the culture-bound elements according to the
translation procedures of Veselica Majhut, there will be short explanations of concepts such as tourism, tourist brochure, culture-bound elements and translation procedures. Moreover, we accentuate the importance of translation in tourism, translation of culture-bound elements in tourism sphere. Some of the frequently used strategies in its translation are also
accentuated, and also intercultural communication and the importance of photography, namely, the visual part of the brochures. Furthermore, we present the translation procedures of Veselica Majhut which were used as a base for our analysis and classification. To finalize our analysis, we exemplify translation procedures by highlighting some of the examples of culture-bound elements and its translation. In summary, we concluded that the most used procedure in our translation is a combination of retention with linguistic translation. Other combinations of procedures, not listed in the classification of Veselica Majhut, are used as well and, finally, we will conclude that some procedures such as combinations with footnotes, were not used at all.
