Abstract

Teoretski rad suočava se s analizom likova iz romana Mephisto Klausa Manna i filmskom adaptacijom Istvasana Szabó. Kako bi se razumjele razlike između likova napravljen je teorijski okvir koji je uključivao povijesni kontekst u kojem je roman napravljen i pregled teorije filmske adaptacije kako bi se razumjele promjene koje su napravljene na temelju promjene medija iz knjige u film. Nadalje, napravljen je i kratak pregled priča kako bi se razumjelo tko se uspoređuje. Usporedba se vrši kroz dramsku teoriju Pfistera. Usporedba je između likova u romanu i filma na temelju kategorija teorije Pfisters drame. Može se zaključiti da knjiga i adaptacija imaju slične priče, ali likovi su drugačije motivirani i imaju druge osobnosti. Stoga se može zaključiti da se radi o različitim radovima, istih imena, sličnih priča, no različitih likova.

Abstract (english)

The theoretical work confronts the analysis of the characters in the novel Mephisto by Klaus Mann and the film adaptation by István Szabó. To understand the differences between the characters a theoretical framework was made which included the historical context in which the novel was made, and a film adaptation overview to understand what changes were made based on the change of the medium from book to film. Further, a short review of the stories was also made to understand who is being compared. The comparison is made through the drama theory of Pfister. The comparison is between the characters in the novel and the film based on the categories of Pfisters drama theory. A conclusion can be drawn that the book and the adaptation have similar stories but the characters are differently motivated and have other personalities. Therefore can be deduced that these are different works, with the same names, and similar stories, but different characters.
