Abstract

Provedeno istraživanje proizlazi iz spoznaje da se starosna struktura društva mijenja, pri čemu mislimo na povećanje udjela starijeg stanovništva u svijetu i Europi pa tako i Hrvatskoj. Osobe treće životne dobi, koje su predmet ovog istraživanja, postaju sve više zanemarene i marginalizirane, dok se istovremeno njihove potrebe za aktivnim i ravnopravnim sudjelovanjem u društvu povećavaju. Odgovor na nerazmjer u potrebama starije populacije i onoga što im društvo omogućava, pronalazimo u konceptu aktivnog starenja, obrazovanju te cjeloživotnom učenju. Provedenim istraživanjem dolazimo do rezultata koji potvrđuju dosadašnja istraživanja u području andragogije, sociologije i gerontogogije, a to je da osobe starije životne dobi imaju potrebu za obrazovanjem, motivirane su i žele usvajati nova znanja i vještine. Rezultati uključenosti starijih osoba u obrazovne programe ukazuju na to da ispitanici u ovom istraživanju predstavljaju novu generaciju osoba starije životne dobi, koje je sve više
informirana te namjerava aktivno stariti i biti uključena u različite segmente društva.

Abstract (english)

The conducted research comes from the realization that the age structure of society is changing, and by that we mean an increase in the share of the elderly population in the world and in Europe, including Croatia. Older people, who are the subject of this research, are becoming more neglected and marginalized, while at the same time their needs for active and equal participation in society are increasing. The answer to this disproportion in the needs of the elderly population and what society provides for them, lies in the concept of active aging, education and lifelong learning. The research leads to the results of previous research in the field of andragogy, sociology and gerontology, which also show that elderly have the need for education, more precisely. they're motivated and want to acquire new knowledge and skills. The results of older people included in the educational program indicate that the respondents in this study represent a new generation of older people, who are more informed and intend to actively age and be included in various segmental societies.
