Abstract

U ovom radu istraženo je antifungalno djelovanje eteričnih ulja origana, timijana, metvice, komorača, borovih iglica i češera te njihovih komponenti karvakrola, timola, mentola i anisaldehida na rast mikotoksigenih plijesni Aspergillus westerdijkiae ŽMJ 26, A. ochraceus ŽMJ 28, A. flavus ŽMJ 30 i Penicillium nordicum ŽMJ 31. Eterična ulja origana i timijana te čiste komponente timol i karvakrol za koje su u preliminarnim istraživanjima dobivene najniže vrijednosti minimalne inhibitorne koncentracije (MIC), pokazale su inhibitorni učinak na rast svih testiranih sojeva plijesni na čvrstoj hranjivoj podlozi pri koncentracijama ½ i ¼ MIC. Inhibitorni učinak ovisio je o koncentraciji ulja. U tekućoj hranjivoj podlozi u koncentraciji ½ MIC, ista su ulja pokazala inhibiciju rasta plijesni A. westerdijkiae. Jedino je kod ovog soja dokazana biosinteza okratoksina A (OTA) kvalitativnom metodom tankoslojne kromatografije (TLC).

Abstract (english)

Antifungal effect of essential oils of oregano, thyme, mint, fennel, pine needles and pinecones, and their components carvacrol, thymol, menthol and anisaldehyde on the growth of mycotoxigenic moulds Aspergillus westerdijkiae ŽMJ 26, A. ochraceus ŽMJ 28, A. flavus ŽMJ 30 i Penicillium nordicum ŽMJ 31 was examined. Oregano and thyme essential oils, thymol and carvacrol which displayed the lowest minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) in the preliminary screening, expressed inhibitory effect on the growth of the all tested moulds in the concentrations of ½ and ¼ MIC in agar. Extent of the inhibition was dependent on the concentration of essential oil used.The same oils in the concentrations of ½ MIC, exhibited inhibition of A. westerdijkiae biomass growth in broth medium. Qualitative thin layer chromatography (TLC) showed biosinthesis of ochratoxin A (OTA) only by strain of A. westerdijkiae.
