Abstract

Down sindrom je jedan od najčešćih genetskih poremećaja koji nastaje uslijed poremećaja 21. Kromosoma, u vidu viška cijelog ili dijela tog kromosoma u jezgri svake tjelesne stanice. Kao njegova posljedica javlja se specifičan izgled lica te mentalna zaostalost. S obzirom na zdravstvene nedostatke s kojima se rađaju, djeca s dijagnosticiranim Down sindromom zahtijevaju konstantnu potrebu za rehabilitacijom, odnosno provođenjem kineziterapijskog sadržaja, s ciljem unaprjeđenja i poboljšanja njihovih motoričkih sposobnosti. Djelotvorni učinci tjelesne aktivnosti nisu usmjereni isključivo na tjelesno zdravlje pojedinca, već je pozitivan rezultat vidljiv i na području psihološkog, kao i društvenog, kognitivnog, afektivnog te moralnog razvoja. Stjecanjem i usvajanjem tjelesnih aktivnosti, djeca uspješno svladavaju različite vještine, a posljedično se javlja pozitivno raspoloženje, odnosno osjećaj zadovoljstva te se povećavaju samopoštovanje i vjera u sebe. Ključni i polazni motiv rada jest prikazati kineziološki sadržaj u radu s djecom s Down sindromom te učinkovitost u provođenju spomenutoga sa svim pozitivnim ishodima. Uzimajući u obzir da je kineziterapija disciplina koja pridonosi liječenju različitih urođenih anomalija, bolesti ili ozljeda nastalih pokretom, kineziološki sadržaj predstavlja izrazito važan zdravstveni aspekt svake jedinke. Temeljna svrha kineziterapije je poboljšati djelovanje dijela tijela ili cijelog organizma, što je kod osoba sa sindromom Down veoma važno. Naime, osobe s navedenim poremećajem izrazito su sklone prekomjernoj tjelesnoj težini te je u njihovu svakodnevicu važno uključiti mnoštvo aktivnog sadržaja. Nadalje, opće poznata je i njihova sklonost hipotoniji, stoga im je prijeko potrebno jačanje mišića. Uzimajući u obzir navedene činjenice, dolazimo do spoznaje kako provođenje kineziološkog sadržaja pruža izrazito dobru osnovu za cjeloviti razvoj osoba s razvojnim poteškoćama, budući da povezuje kretanje i rehabilitaciju, što je osobama sa sindromom Down potrebno za normalno funkcioniranje i uključivanje u svakodnevicu.

Abstract (english)

Down syndrome is one of the most common genetic disorders. It is caused by an additional chromosome or its part in the nucleus of every cell in the body. The consequence of the disorder are specific facial features and mental disability. Given the health deficiencies with which they are born, children diagnosed with Down syndrome require constant rehabilitation, i.e. the implementation of kinesitherapy content, in order to improve and develop their motor skills. The positive effects of physical activity are not focused exclusively on human physical health; positive results are also visible in the area of psychological health, as well as social, cognitive, affective and moral development. By applying physical activities, children successfully master various skills. In other words, physical activities result in a positive mood and feeling of satisfaction, as well as in increased self-esteem and self-belief. The key and starting motive of the paper is to illustrate the kinesiological content for working with children with Down syndrome and the effectiveness of its implementation, with all the positive outcomes. Kinesiological content, i.e. kinesitherapy, is extremely important, considering the claim that it is a discipline that uses movement to facilitate the treatment of various congenital anomalies, diseases or injuries. The basic purpose of kinesitherapy is to improve the functioning of a part of the body or the whole organism, which is very important for people with Down syndrome. People with this disorder are extremely prone to excessive weight gain, so it is important to include a lot of active content in their daily lives. Furthermore, the condition generally carries a risk of hypotonia, so they also need muscle strengthening. Taking into account the above facts, we come to the realization that the implementation of kinesiological content provides a very good basis for this, since it combines movement and rehabilitation, providing people with Down syndrome with the tools they need for normal functioning and inclusion in everyday life.
